Original Cheese House, circa 1969 |
The Cheese House design was conceived in 1965 by the original owners. It was built in the shape of a wheel of cheese with a wedge cut out for the entrance. Swiss cheese holes were painted on the outside of the building to make it look even more like a tempting block of cheese. Chunky, the mouse, stood on top of the building and served as the Cheese House icon for over 30 years.
The Arlington, Vermont Cheese House was the the first and original location and soon the idea took over and became a small New England franchise. Around 1988 the original building was modified and a gift shop and clothing shop was added. |

In 1998 the Serraro family purchased the business and retained much of the original design, products and customer service that made the Cheese House so popular and successful. We can now offer you online ordering of Vermont's finest cheeses and maple products.
Please remember when ordering that while some products are available year round, there are some that we do not recommend shipping during the heat of the summer. We hope you enjoy browsing our site and if you have any questions please call us. We are happy to make your acquaintance and look forward to providing you with some of the best cheese Vermont has to offer.
Sincerely, Rick & Jody Serraro |
